ABOUT YOU The Mill Operations Supervisors responsibility is to manage their respective day or night shift crews. This includes the following areas: Crushing Operations, Grinding Operations, Gravity Recovery Operations, Solution Operations (Cyanidation & Merrill Crowe), Dry Stack Tailings, Equipment Operations, Reagent Circuits, and Refinery. ABOUT THE ROLE Oversee the day-to-day activities of the gold milling operations, including ore processing, milling, leaching, and recovery processes. Ensure adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs). Supervise, train, and mentor mill operators and technicians to ensure high performance and adherence to safety standards. Provide leadership in troubleshooting and optimizing operational issues. Ensure a safe working environment by enforcing safety protocols, conducting regular safety meetings, and ensuring all staff are properly trained on safety standards. Comply with environmental and regulatory requirements. Monitor key production parameters such as throughput, recovery rates, and ore grade to ensure that targets are met. Analyze plant data and report any deviations or inefficiencies. Identify opportunities for process improvements to increase throughput, reduce costs, and improve recovery rates. Participate in troubleshooting and process optimization tasks. Oversee the inventory of chemicals, consumables, and spare parts used in mill operations. Ensure the efficient use of resources and that supplies are adequately stocked. Monitor product quality to ensure it meets specifications. Work closely with the quality control and laboratory teams to review assays and adjust operations as needed to optimize gold recovery. Work to ensure that operators and technicians have up-to-date knowledge of equipment, safety procedures, and industry best practices. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE Minimum of 5 years progressive mineral processing experience and 2 years of direct supervision of crew. Strong knowledge of workplace safety requirements and procedures. Analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong background in process plant operations. Excellent organizational, decision-making, leadership, supervisory, and conflict-resolution skills. Self-motivated, team player with good interpersonal skills.
