The Opportunity:Logic Executive Search & Workplace Solutions is proud to partner with the Municipality of Lakeshore in the recruitment of a Team Leader – Drainage located in Lakeshore, Ontario. This role reports directly to the Division Leader – Capital Projects and is responsible for overseeing the operation and maintenance of all municipal drainage systems under the Drainage Act, ensuring compliance with regulations and efficient system performance. What’s In It For You?Competitive Base SalaryImmediate Comprehensive Benefits Plan OMERS PensionFleet Vehicle AvailableContinuous Development OpportunitiesWhat You’ll Be Responsible For:Supervising the Assistant Drainage Superintendent and providing direction to Pump Commissioners, contractors, and labourers.Coordinating with administrative staff to support drainage operations.Conducting inspections and reporting on the condition of municipal drains to Council. Supervising maintenance and repair operations and ensuring adherence to Council procedures.Preparing tenders for drainage projects and overseeing successful project completion.Participating in Drainage Board meetings and ensuring minutes are prepared and presented to Council.Reviewing drainage applications, petitions, and reports, and providing recommendations to Council.Serving as a liaison between engineers, contractors, solicitors, and ratepayers.Assisting the Drainage Engineer with onsite inspections and appeals resolution during construction projects.Reviewing engineering drainage reports and providing input at meetings and hearings.Advising ratepayers on drainage solutions and procedures under the Drainage Act.Providing input on severance applications and subdivision plans related to drainage.Assisting with urban stormwater management and road drainage infrastructure.Acting as the Municipal representative on the Railway Issues Committee.Participating in the Flood Mitigation Task Force and supporting flood response plans. Preparing and managing funds and applications for Provincial grants and overseeing budgetary guidelines.The Ideal Candidate:Post-secondary degree or diploma in Civil, Environmental, Water Resource Engineering, or equivalent.5+ years of experience in Civil, Environmental, or Water Resource Engineering, with a preference for those who have worked in municipal environments.3+ years of experience in a supervisory capacity in a municipal setting or other related sectors. Must possess a Certified Engineering Technologist designation (CET) or be eligible for licensing within 6 months. Alternatively, can be in good standing with the Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists (OACETT).Must have completed or be able to complete the Municipal Drainage Superintendent course/program.Working knowledge of the Drainage Act and other legislation such as the Federal Fisheries Act, Conservation Authorities Regulations, Occupational Health & Safety Act, and more.Demonstrated experience in project management with the ability to write technical documents, develop and monitor capital budgets, and oversee multiple projects simultaneously.Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with multiple levels of the organization, Council, and the public. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a diverse group of stakeholders. Valid Class “G” Driver’s license.
