You will work closely with senior leadership and the interdisciplinary team to ensure Fathom Studio continues to secure and deliver impactful projects.The role is pivotal to our ongoing growth, and as we expand our operations, there is a possibility of extending or transitioning into a permanent role following the maternity leave period, depending on the evolving needs of the firm and performance in the position.This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to meaningful projects and build strong client relationships while gaining experience within a highly collaborative and innovative team.Key Responsibilities:Strategic Business DevelopmentCollaborate with senior leadership to identify and pursue new project opportunities that align with the firm’s expertise and growth strategies.Monitor RFP sites daily (e.g., Procurement NS, Tenders PEI, MERX, etc.), vet opportunities, and share relevant opportunities with the team.Support client cultivation efforts by researching and identifying potential clients, maintaining relationships, and aligning client growth plans with revenue goals.Proposal CoordinationManage the proposal process, including:Conducting background research required for bids.Assembling consultant teams for responses to project opportunities.Coordinating and compiling content from proposal team members.Generating, reviewing, and submitting high-quality proposal documents.Submit questions and seek clarifications from RFP originators as needed to ensure compliance with requirements and deadlines.Client EngagementAct as the primary business development point of contact for external stakeholders.Prepare and deliver presentations and pitches to clients and partners.Collaborate with senior leadership to develop strategies for client relationship management and growth.Team Collaboration & OrganizationWork closely with senior staff to identify opportunities that align with the firm’s services and areas of expertise.Develop and maintain templates, resource files, and boilerplate content to streamline the proposal process.Ensure effective internal communication regarding upcoming opportunities and deadlines.What Were Looking For:Qualifications & SkillsBachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Architecture, Planning, or a related field.3+ years of experience in business development or proposal coordination, preferably within the design, architecture, or consulting industry.Strong understanding of RFP processes and best practices for proposal preparation.Excellent organizational and project management skills with the ability to handle multiple deadlines simultaneously.Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.Experience building relationships with clients and collaborators to foster long-term partnerships.Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with project management tools.Personal AttributesStrategic thinker with a proactive approach to identifying and securing new opportunities.Highly collaborative and team-oriented.Detail-oriented and organized, with strong problem-solving skills.Passionate about the design industry and contributing to its growth through meaningful relationships.Why Join Us?Work on diverse, impactful projects that shape communities across Atlantic Canada.Collaborate with a talented and interdisciplinary team of designers, planners, and architects.Gain hands-on experience in a dynamic business development environment.Be part of a supportive and inclusive workplace culture.
