Job Description

ROLE OVERVIEWAs the leader of the Site Services team, your role will be to manage the site at the Rook I location, overseeing operational activities associated with exploration, construction, and operations. You will be responsible for managing relevant operational surface facilities that support exploration, construction, and, in the long term, surface and underground operations. This includes oversight of the site camp, airstrip, kitchen, and accommodations. The role also involves accountability for developing budgetary plans, ensuring adherence to budgets, and maintaining effective cost control.POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES (including but not limited to)Develop relationships with broader stakeholders and Nation partner groups to build knowledge and opportunities for the benefit of all.Ensure Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards and practices are adhered to, and develop them where required, while continuously promoting awareness within the site services team and respective contractor groups.Apply NexGen’s culture and responsibility values consistently across teams and contractors.Conduct regular and consistent HSE interactions to foster a positive culture where team members are empowered to improve their working environment continuously.Demonstrate knowledge of contract management and inventory management.Manage operational costs and adjust processes, systems, and behaviors as appropriate.Develop plans and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and hold team members and contractors accountable to them.Provide consistent leadership by example, taking pride and ownership of facilities and equipment, ensuring exceptional performance, achieving optimal outcomes, and maintaining the highest levels of housekeeping.Coordinate with operational readiness and construction teams to ensure first fills, critical spares, and operators are ready to support the operation of all infrastructure assets at the sites.Participate in operational readiness and commissioning activities.Conduct technical evaluations of equipment selection and ensure inventory management needs are considered.Work closely with Construction, Maintenance, Commissioning, and Operations teams to ensure a seamless transition from construction to operations.Ensure all contractors comply with the Contractor Management System.Properly record, distribute, and archive all meetings, correspondence, instructions, etc., as required.Provide leadership in HSE and operations by anticipating current and future state risks.Complete all required metrics and reports within agreed timelines.Have a thorough understanding of and adhere to all site Health, Safety, Security, and Environmental requirements and standards.Demonstrate knowledge in water/wastewater treatment, remote camp operations, quality assurance, operations, maintenance, and laboratories.Ensure preventative maintenance and reactive repairs are carried out on all operational infrastructure and equipment.Oversee laboratory personnel and sample lab requirements.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCEA minimum of 7 years in related roles, including at least 5 years in operations management, preferably within a mining environment.Technical knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and piping systems, as well as safety and environmental standards.SAP knowledge.Proven experience in managing diverse teams, fostering collaboration, and driving performance.Project experience in Greenfields development, inventory management, and contractor oversight.Safety-focused, environmentally aware, effective communicator, entrepreneurial mindset, and community-oriented.Knowledge of Health and Safety systems.LOCATIONThis position will be based at the Rook I site located 150 km North of La Loche, Saskatchewan on a two-week on/two-week off rotation schedule.
