Join us and be a part of something impactful!Overview:The Quality Specialist is responsible for monitoring and reporting construction non-conformities on the Surrey Langley SkyTrain Project while ensuring compliance with project agreements and applicable specifications. This role is critical in maintaining the integrity of the Projects quality processes and ensuring the effective operation of the internal Quality Management System (QMS).The role involves working closely with Construction Managers and other project team members to identify potential quality issues, providing recommendations for issue management, and developing systems to track observations, deficiencies, and corrective actions. The position requires regular communication with project leadership and a strong focus on maintaining compliance with relevant codes, standards, job specifications, and regulations.Key responsibilities include preparing and conducting audits, liaising with technical, construction, and commercial teams, and identifying opportunities for process improvements. Liaises with the technical and construction teams to close out non-conformity reports and creates non-conformity reports, when needed.Liaises with the commercial team on extent, status and background of quality issues and non-compliance events.Implements, maintains, and ensures the effective operation of the internal Quality Management System.Conducts on-site quality assurance tasks, when needed.Works with Construction Managers and other project team members to identify potential quality issues.Liaises with Project Co’s Quality team to coordinate inspections and audits and review non-conformity reports for resolution.Supports the province’s Quality Audit Program, including scheduling, coordinating, and participating in internal and external quality audits of key processes with the project team and the contractor’s team.Ensures correct codes, standards, job specifications, project procedures, federal and provincial regulations are properly identified, correctly specified in detail, and met or exceeded.Ensures that all quality audits required in the project agreements are conducted and findings are properly documented, followed-up on, and reported to Project leadership.Supports the implementation of all quality management plans (e.g., construction, design, safety, environmental) to the required degree and prepares monthly reports for Project leadership.Develops processes to track observations, deficiencies, non-compliance, and corrective actions as necessary.Ensures that relevant records are maintained and retained in accordance with the Quality Management System during the construction, project handover and close out process.Qualifications:Degree in Engineering and considerable related experience working with project teams supporting the quality aspect of large construction projects, ideally for rapid transit.Experience conducting quality audits and addressing quality issues to minimize construction impacts and supporting timely project completion.Sound knowledgeof quality management.Sound judgement, excellent organizational, analytical, problem solvingand prioritizing skillsto anticipate and assess issues and determine the best solution or course of action.Supervision of safe storageand verification of all project-related documentation, both paper documents and electronic files.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Note:You must be legally authorized to work in Canada.Collection Notice: Your personal information is collected from LinkedIn by Transportation Investment Corporation (TI Corp) pursuant to 26(c), 26(e), and 27(1)(a)(i) of the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act for the purpose of TI Corp recruitment.
