They showcase and increase awareness of our critical cause and the incredible work we do, tell impactful stories and ensure arthritis is positioned as a top 5 health concern.Purpose of Role: Reporting to the Senior Manager, Communications, the Specialist, Social Media & Event Content will be responsible for planning, developing and executing communications as it relates to annual events within Arthritis Society Canada, and interacting with internal and external stakeholders to deliver the organization’s messages to event audiences, nationwide. This includes creating and posting content for the organization’s social media channels. Note: This is a temporary 1-year contract, covering a leave of absence.Key Accountabilities: Strategically identify the audiences and opportunities for marketing moments for all signature events, nationwide, developing goals, key messages and related collateral to ensure full strategic and operational alignment of brand and messaging in all event assets (digital and print). Develop, curate, write and edit event materials such as but not limited to event collateral, programs, event presentations, invitations, letters, scripts, event website content, speaking notes, pre & post event communications to all stakeholders (internal & external), signage copy, and social media content.Guide the Events team regarding their execution of day-of event communications for each signature event.Analyze potential new opportunities to enhance the events communications work of Arthritis Society Canada through post-event reviews/surveys/debriefs/social media activations.Work with Mission and Revenue Development teams to create and execute project-specific social media content.Qualifications, Experience & Skills:University degree in communications, journalism, public relations or equivalent, with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in the private/public sector, or an equivalent of education and experience. Excellent technology skills and proficiency in creating social media content and assets (photo and video creation/editing) Exceptional oral and written communication, presentation, interpersonal and client relationship management skills are essential. Bilingual (English and French) language skills an asset. Highly effective project management, prioritization, multi-tasking, and time management skills to meet deadlines, ability to identify and resolve or escalate conflicts.Working Conditions: This position is Designated. This means you will work at least 2 days a week from our Toronto office and the rest of the days remotely/from home. The exact days you are required to work from our office will be determined by your supervisor. This will include in-person meetings, events, retreats and other opportunities to connect and collaborate.
