About the Role:Fitzrovia is seeking to hire a Café Manager to join our team. The Café Manager will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our in-house Café Bar, No. 10 Dean. No. 10 Dean serves a diverse array of offerings, including coffee, wine, beer, cocktails, and snacks, all crafted with a focus on the highest quality ingredients and execution to meet the exacting standards of our residents and guests.The Café Manager will work closely with, and report to the Senior Manager, Hospitality and lead a team of Baristas. This role will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the shops, promoting coffee and alcohol consumption by educating residents and guests, and assisting with the preparation and service of a variety of coffee and tea beverages, a full wine, beer and cocktail offering, as well as pastries and small snacks.At Fitzrovia, we pride ourselves on being an entrepreneurial and innovative organization, which makes this role well suited for a candidate looking to roll up their sleeves, wear multiple hats and contribute to all aspects of real estate investment and development.Key Responsibilities:Consistently provide exceptional hospitality, actively seeking opportunities to exceed guest expectationsAddress and resolve customer complaints or concerns, demonstrating effective problem-solving skills and maintaining customer satisfactionClosely monitor the shops profitability and devise inventive methods to enhance itExpertly prepare and serve a diverse range of beverages, setting a high standard for the team in precision and presentation, and ensuring consistency across all team membersLead the innovation and regular menu update, introducing new items and ensuring the online offering is regularly monitored and updatedManage the scheduling, training, and supervision of the Barista team, actively participating in these activities to maintain a high level of service and team efficiencyEncourage teamwork and cultivate a harmonious working environment, leading by example and promoting collaborative effortsOversee stock levels and manage ordering processes, actively participating in inventory management to ensure accuracy and efficiencyHandle invoice management in accordance with Fitzrovia’s filing system, ensuring proper tracking and accuracy of recipe costsTake a hands-on approach in balancing cash, completing balance sheets, cash reports, and related forms, and oversee the teams adherence to these financial practicesManage cash handling and payments, guaranteeing transaction precision and proper financial closing proceduresFoster and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and customers, directly influencing interactions to ensure long-term partnershipsActively ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and enforce provincial/territorial liquor legislation and regulationsMaintain the bar areas cleanliness and organization, ensuring high hygiene and ingredient handling standardsCollaborate with the site team for 10 DEAN and Property Events, providing direct support and guidance in developing offeringsQualifications and Experiences:Bachelors degree, Diploma or Certificate in hospitality management is an assetKnowledge of cocktails, beer and wine is an asset1-2 years of previous supervisory experience in a fast-paced food and beverage operation2-3 years of barista and specialty coffee experienceFood Handlers’ and Smart Serve CertifiedHospitality-driven, positive attitude, able to provide outstanding customer serviceStrong organizational and communication skillsConfidence with espresso machines and creating a variety of beveragesAbility to effectively lead and motivate a teamPassionate about food and beverage, especially coffee and wine serviceAbility to multitask in a fast-paced environment with a positive attitudeAbility to work well under pressure and within tight deadlinesSelf-motivated, curious, responsive, and result driven.Strong teamwork, decision & problem-solving and attention to detail.Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidaysWhy Us:Join the dynamic team at 10 Dean, where every day is an opportunity to excel in the art of hospitality.
