Construction Manager Location: Toronto, ONO’Hara Search Group is proud to partner with a leading organization to identify a skilled and driven Construction Manager to join the Infrastructure team in Toronto. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to the transformative Ontario Line Subway Project as part of a high-performing, collaborative project delivery team. As Construction Manager, you will oversee critical construction, contract management, and engineering activities while championing safety, innovation, and inclusion. This is a full-time, permanent opportunity for an experienced leader eager to make an impact in the infrastructure space.Key Responsibilities:Collaborate on Constructability: Partner with engineering teams to address constructability and design considerations, establishing clear communication and deliverable agreements.Safety Leadership: Foster a safety-first culture, actively engaging in hazard inspections, workforce collaboration, and the implementation of safety programs.Temporary Facility Oversight: Coordinate requirements and designs for temporary construction facilities.Quality Assurance: Monitor technical requirements, ensuring compliance with quality control and assurance standards, as well as contractor quality programs.Cost and Progress Reporting: Lead preparation of cost forecasts, progress reporting, and periodic updates in coordination with project controls teams.Contract Administration: Support and lead contract administration, including reviewing change proposals, managing trends, and ensuring accurate project forecasts.Mentorship and Team Development: Conduct performance reviews, foster professional growth, and provide training for team members.Health, Safety, and Environment: Ensure implementation of environmental control plans and compliance with health and safety standards.Schedule Management: Approve contractor schedules and monitor progress to align with project milestones and timelines.Stakeholder Collaboration: Interface with contractors and other project teams to ensure seamless coordination across all phases of construction.Qualifications:Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree and 10+ years of relevant experience, or 15+ years of experience in construction management without a degree.Proven Track Record: Demonstrated success managing multidisciplinary construction projects, particularly in rail or large-scale infrastructure.Technical Proficiency: Expertise in engineering disciplines, cost controls, scheduling, and contract administration.Leadership Skills: Strong supervisory and mentoring capabilities with experience managing contractors and project teams.Communication Excellence: Superior technical writing, verbal communication, and presentation skills.Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with rail engineering procedures and multidisciplinary coordination across construction, operations, and maintenance.Safety Commitment: Strong adherence to environmental, safety, and health programs, including a dedication to Zero Accident principles.Technical Tools: Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).This is a rare opportunity to lead a key component of one of Canada’s most significant infrastructure projects.
