Context:To strengthen the IKOS team in Canada we are looking for Railway System Design Engineer to work on large-scale railway projects.Responsibilities:Develop system, subsystem, and interface requirements by analyzing customer and train control domain needs.Supports system architecture, with a focus on integrating Communication-Based Train Control (CBTC) systemsSpecialize in network design, covering communication network requirements, design, configuration, and performance analysis (wired and wireless).Troubleshoot complex network issues and assess third-party communication network integration with CBTC.Works on data engineering focusing on managing and optimizing data for key train control functionsPerform feasibility analysis and simulations to identify design requirements.Define and update processes and standards based on systems engineering principles.Work with various teams to resolve issues during analysis and field testing.Ensure safety is built into designs by identifying and resolving safety defects early.Guarantee that the signaling design is executed in compliance with relevant standards and established signaling principles.Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Systems, Electrical, Computer), Computer Science, or a related technical engineering field.Experience in developing software-based system applications.Knowledge of modern software engineering practices and the system development life cycle.Experience with tools like DOORS and other similar softwareKnowledge of railway signaling systems and systems engineering principles.Excellent technical writing and communication skills.Get on the right Track!
