This role is responsible for setting up and operating radial arms saws, jointers, presses, clamp carriers, rip saws & various other machines, ensuring that all products meet the highest standards of quality and precision. The Miller plays a crucial role in our production process, contributing to our reputation for excellence.Primary ResponsibilitiesDaily Work Schedule: Check the work schedule, identify rush orders, and establish the daily work plan. Generate a cutlist based off of provided shop drawings with an understanding of standard parts and processes and check and adjust it as necessary.Machinery Set Up: Set up the machinery and adjust it to specifications. Review work order requirements, conduct test runs, check measurements, and ensure parts generated align with drawings or S.O.P’s. Make adjustments as needed.Material Management: Request materials from the Forklift Driver, ensuring they meet quality standards. Feed and/or tail boards appropriately during production.Quality Control: Monitor quality throughout production, removing any defects using a radial arm saw. Ensure all products meet the required specifications.Order Completion: Accurately tally the length and number of pieces. Complete orders by verifying that all products match the order paperwork.Work Area Maintenance: Maintain a clean and organized work area to uphold safety and efficiency standards.Skills RequiredTechnical Skills: Some experience using the following tools & machines; cutlists, radial arms saws, jointers, presses, clamp carriers, rip saws, table saws.Product Knowledge: Understanding of acceptable mix of lengths/widths and optimizing cutting for maximum yield.Attention to Detail: Ensure precision, accuracy, and quality in all tasks.Physical Stamina: Ability to handle the physically demanding work requirements of the role.
