We have a history of innovation and have received recognition for our leadership in the industry and community. Role Description This position reports to the Regulatory Affairs Officer. The Regulatory Finance Analyst will be primarily responsible for the monthly settlement process with the IESO, recording and reporting of variance accounting, the preparation of supporting documentation for regulatory filings and rate submissions with the Ontario Energy Board and other agencies, follow regulatory proceedings and advise on implications to the Corporation, provide assistance with financial regulatory and cost analysis as well as budgeting and annual and cost of service rate classes. Primary Responsibilities Support the Regulatory Affairs Officer to ensure business and corporate objectives are met Prepare monthly and annual regulatory journal entries Completion of monthly unbilled calculations and reconciliations of distribution and deferral and variance accounts Maintain records to satisfy annual OEB reporting requirements including rate filings Complete monthly settlement related claims with the IESO as required including OER and RPP Settlement claims Prepare monthly power bill entries and Statistics Canada reports Remain current on all new or changing regulatory accounting guidance and communicate the implications to the organization Support the billing department to ensure accurate testing and implementation of approved rates and rate riders, per OEB approved Tariff of Rates and Charges Maintain positive working relationships with all internal departments, management staff and employees as well as with external customers, contractors, municipal agencies and governmental bodies Perform other duties as assigned Skills/Abilities/Knowledge Advanced Microsoft Office skills Work independently and as an analytical thinker with the ability to conduct research, data analysis, and solve complex problems Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Ability to multi-task and manage competing deadlines Knowledge of procedural controls and data validation techniques is required An interest in electricity regulatory policy and compliance Knowledge of the regulated Ontario electricity market, regulations and other regulatory instruments considered an asset Qualifications 3 to 5 years progressive experience in a regulatory or finance role Experience with financial modeling will be considered an asset Experience with Enterprise Resource Systems (Great Plains or similar) Post secondary degree in Business or Accounting or equivalent Recognized professional accounting designation or advanced standing towards obtaining an accounting designation (CPA designation preferred) Advanced time management skills and the ability to prioritize responsibilities Advanced research and analytical skills Ability to communicate effectively across the Corporation and externally at all levels Candidates should thrive in a dynamic and ever-changing environment
