Purpose of the Position: The Field Service Technician is directly responsible for performing maintenance and repair work on generators, ATS, and associated equipment for Pritchard Power West and supporting all other departments. These include Sales, Administration and Parts departments. Education Required High School diploma at a minimum. Post-secondary education is considered an asset. Experience, Skills, Abilities Required Journeyman in either electrical, heavy equipment or automotive Minimum 2 years'' experience as a generator technician Ability to interpret drawings, diagrams and specifications of a variety of types of mechanical and electrical equipment, including manufacturer''s manuals and parts books Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude Good understanding of CSA 282 - Emergency Electrical Power Supply for Buildings Good interpersonal, communication and computer skills A clean Driver''s Abstract Able to work unsupervised, and follow all safety procedures and policies Can work while standing for up to 8 hours and/or remain seated for up to 8 hours Primary Responsibilities and Accountabilities The Field Service Technician will: Maintain and repair electrical power generators and associated components; Install enclosures, winterizing components and accessories to generators; Troubleshoot and repair various mechanical and electrical problems on-site, in shop and via telephone; Perform regular scheduled service and load bank testing as per maintenance contracts; Perform generator commissioning and startup inspections; Maintain a clean and safe work environment; Maintain a clean and valid drivers license/abstract; Provide assistance to other trades, as required; Assist with service quotes/contracts; Travel by service vehicle and airplane can be expected.
