TITLE Vice President of Finance, Fintech SALARY RANGE $160,000 - $190,000 THE PERKS Equity compensation 4 weeks of vacation Standard health benefits Professional development support LOCATION Toronto, ON THE OFFICE Permanently In-Office TEAM SIZE Under 5 people THE ROLE A strategic finance leader managing all financial aspects of a growing fintech company with focus on financial operations, risk management, and strategic planning. Financial Operations (35%) Risk Management (30%) Financial Planning & Analysis (15%) Special Projects & Strategic Initiatives (20%) THE TASKS Financial Operations Oversee treasury and money management for product operations Manage daily bank balances and transaction monitoring Oversee financial reporting using QuickBooks and internal systems Lead quarterly close process and annual audits Manage regulatory filings and compliance requirements Risk Management Oversee internal and external risk management processes Manage relationships with credit team and external lending partners Lead audit processes and compliance reviews Interface with regulatory bodies and banking partners Financial Planning & Analysis Drive financial modeling and board reporting Manage sales metrics and internal reporting Oversee consolidated financial statements across multiple entities Lead budgeting and forecasting processes Special Projects Support capital management initiatives Drive process improvements and automation Manage stakeholder relationships Lead strategic financial initiatives THE COMPANY An innovative fintech company solving critical problems for Canadian businesses through financial services solutions, including payments and lending products. THE EXPECTATIONS TIMELINE PREVIEW By Month 1 Take ownership of all financial operations Document and understand all existing processes Build relationships with key team members Understand current reporting structures and requirements By Month 3 Master business modeling and forecasting Lead board updates and internal reporting Manage FP&A function independently Drive internal team communications on financial metrics By Month 6 Own all financial and risk management aspects Successfully manage regulatory compliance Lead strategic projects Drive process improvements By Month 12 Implement automated and streamlined processes Establish efficient information flow across departments Drive significant operational improvements Position for potential CFO role THE SKILL SET A minimum of 7 years of relevant experience CPA or equivalent designation Financial services industry experience required Strong SQL and Excel skills Startup or high-growth company experience highly valued ONLY QUALIFIED CANDIDATES WILL BE CONTACTED.
