Position Title: HR Generalist(Site) Overview: The HR Generalist(Site) plays a pivotal role in supporting Human Resources functions at our Eskay Creek Mine site in Northern BC. Operating on a 2-week on, 2-week off schedule, this position reports directly to the VP, People & Culture and Mine Manager at our Eskay Creek mine site. This role will oversee various HR activities, including recruitment, onboarding, offboarding, payroll, policy communication, employee issue resolution, conduct investigations and provide training and coaching. This role will work with on-site departments, managers and employees as well as the Vancouver HR team. Key Responsibilities: Recruitment and Onboarding: Manage full-cycle recruitment processes, from job description creation to candidate onboarding. Collaborate with hiring managers to identify staffing needs and fill vacancies promptly. Develop and execute effective onboarding procedures to ensure positive employee experience. Provide training and support to new hires and managers on the HR and payroll system (UKG). Collaborate with the HR team to plan and implement site recruitment campaigns. Attend job fairs in the local communities to promote Skeena and reach out to candidates in Northern BC. Employee Relations and Administration: Key point of contact for site employees address employee inquiries and concerns. Build relationships with and effectively support managers with their team and staff. Conduct investigations into employee concerns and complaints and recommend/implement corrective actions. Process employee information updates and changes accurately. Assist employees with benefits and payroll inquiries. Address performance, employee issues and conflict in a timely manner. Manage and conduct terminations and process exit interviews. Payroll and Timesheets: Ensure and maintain accurate payroll data entry and processing in the HR and payroll system (UKG). Provide support and guidance to employees and managers regarding payroll-related inquiries, and train them on relevant day-to-day system functionality. Review and approve timesheets for hourly staff in UKG. Troubleshoot and validate overtime, sick time and unpaid time in timesheets. Confirm travel hours and pay. Coordinate with Skeenas Camp Admin team and Travel Lead to investigate missed shifts, days or flights for payroll processing. HR Operations and Projects: Support various HR projects and initiatives, including compensation and benefit analysis, onsite - and recruiting events, etc. Identify and implement process improvements to enhance HR efficiency. Prepare and maintain HR reports and metrics, as needed. Stay informed and updated with changing HR trends and regulations, advising changes as necessary. Communication and Training: Effectively communicate and provide guidance on HR policies, procedures, and benefits to employees. Conduct cultural sensitivity and First Nation partnership training. Assist with events at site specifically regarding the Tahltan Nation and employees. Coordinate employee and site community events. Qualifications: 5 years of relevant HR experience. Experience with a rotational schedule at a mine site preferred. Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail. Knowledge of British Columbia and Canadian employment legislation. Interest in HR trends and best practices within the mining industry. Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, SharePoint and experience with UKG (Kronos/Ultimate Software) is advantageous. CPHR is advantageous Work Environment: This role is site-based, operating within a fast-paced environment with multiple competing priorities. The position involves working at a remote mine site at a 12-hour daily schedule on a 2-week on, 2-week off rotation. Exposure to extreme cold weather conditions is to be expected. Transportation will be provided to the Eskay Creek camp facilities, with flight transportation available for applicants from designated Point of Hires in BC and Alberta to the Terrace airport. Applicants must have legal authorization to work in Canada. Priority consideration will be given to Indigenous Nations members residing within project territories. Compensation: The expected salary range for this position is CA$85,000 - CA$100,000, in line with the competitive job market for rotational-shift roles carried out in remote locations in British Columbia. Salary ranges are guidelines and any job offer received by a candidate will be determined on a number of factors such as relevant education, training, and/or experience.
