Job Description

The Portal Crane Group (PCG) has been proudly servicing the crane, material handling and hoist industry since 1987. Located in Port Coquitlam, PCG has three main operating divisions. Precision Crane, which provides Parts, Service and Maintenance for Overhead Cranes and Hoists. Portal Crane which provides Parts and Service for all kinds of Cranes for Material Handling equipment including Project work for refurbishment and upgrades. Lastly, we are a manufacture of brake products under the division BRELX Braking Solutions. We have a full product line of Crane and Material Handling braking systems. Primary design concepts for these brakes supplied across the world at Ports and Container Handling facilities are spring applied and hydraulically or electric released. BRELX is the first company in the world to develop electrically released braking systems. With proof of concept in place and installation base of product rapidly expanding, we need to add quality people to our team to meet the increasing worldwide demand for our products and services. As a result, we are currently looking to hire for several positions. We are looking for quality people to join the PCG team and continue to build our brand and products to compete on the worldwide market. Service Technician Qualifications: Proficiency in mechanical systems and equipment Ability to read technical manuals and drawings Experience in troubleshooting and repairing industrial equipment Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills Excellent communication and customer service skills High school diploma or equivalent; certification in mechanical or technical fields is a plus Duties Include: Parts Assembly including hydraulic and basic electrical Troubleshooting and repairs both in shop and in field Attending job sites for maintenance, service and installation work Creating reports using our Inspect All software Requirements: 2-5 years or more of related experience Strong problem solving skills and troubleshooting experience Good communication skills Valid Canadian drivers license Ability to work alone or alongside others equally well Fluency in English both written and spoken Position Details: Full time, permanent position Competitive hourly rate based on experience Overtime when applicable including travel and stand by / on call reimbursement Benefits after 3 months including Extended health care Opportunity for additional training and advancement Job Types: Full-time, Permanent Pay: $35.00-$55.00 per hour Additional pay: Overtime pay Benefits: Casual dress Dental care Extended health care Life insurance On-site parking Schedule: 8 hour shift Day shift Monday to Friday Work Location: In person Expected start date: ASAP
