Supply Ontario is seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our Human Resources team. The Employee and Labour Relations Advisor role will be focused on Employee and Labour Relations however the successful candidate will have the responsibility to provide cross coverage for Health, Safety and Wellness as well. Reporting to the Director, Employee & Labour Relations, Health & Safety, and HR Compliance, this pivotal role will be accountable for providing specialist advice and counsel to Supply Ontario executives, managers, and human resources staff on a broad range of employee and labour relations issues and collective bargaining, working closely with Supply Ontario''s union partners, and managing and conducting workplace investigations. Key responsibilities will include: Providing specialist advice, guidance and training in the interpretation, application and administration of collective agreements, and policies and procedures consistent with corporate directives. Providing specialist advice and guidance on workplace accommodation. Leading the development of best practice employee and labour relations strategies, processes, and corporate policies. Providing recommendations and proactive strategies for risk management and remediation. Managing and/or conducting confidential workplace investigations. Developing and producing reports on various employee and labour relations topics including special reports required by the Board of Directors. Leading and coordinating the management of grievances and leading the mediation and negotiation of settlements. Leading collective bargaining preparation and research to ensure a strategic approach to bargaining. Representing Supply Ontario in union management committees. Promoting the development and maintenance of effective labour/management relationships conducive to operational, administrative, and service efficiency. Providing support and coverage to the Health, Safety and Wellness Advisor where required. Successful candidates will demonstrate the following: Degree in Labour Relations, or a related field. 4-5 years of experience in labour and employee relations in a multi-union environment preferred. Professional certification (CHRP) considered an asset. In-depth knowledge of labour relations and collective bargaining, including principles and best practices, current theories and trends, and related provincial and federal legislation and the ability to interpret and apply legislation, collective agreements, policies and arbitration decisions. Experience in managing and conducting workplace investigations. Strong knowledge of the Human Rights Code , the Employment Standards Act, 2000 , the Labour Relations Act, 1995 and the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act , as well as related regulations and guidelines. Knowledge of current best practices and trends in attendance management, performance management, abilities support, accommodation, and modified work programs. Knowledge of a broad spectrum of dispute resolution and workplace investigation processes and techniques, and relationship-building strategies including interest-based conflict resolution. Proven coaching skills and the ability to maintain the integrity of confidential information. Advanced organizational and time management skills with the ability to handle complex problems. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Sharepoint and Teams) and other internal applications, as required.
