Introduction The National Food Service Sales Manager, reporting directly to the Head of Sales, is critical in driving growth and customer satisfaction across the Wholesale, Broadline, and Food Service sectors nationwide. This position focuses on identifying potential customers, building strong client relationships, and generating new business opportunities through targeted market research, strategic networking, and participation in industry events. With full accountability for the sales cyclefrom prospecting to closingthis leader ensures the achievement of sales targets while upholding the companys values and meeting shareholder expectations for growth, profitability, and exceptional customer service. Collaborating with sales, marketing, and operations teams, the National Food Service Sales Manager contributes to a high-performance culture that delivers measurable results. Responsibilities Sales and Marketing Develop and implement annual sales plans and strategies in collaboration with the Head of Sales and North American marketing teams. Create customer-specific business plans and budgets aligned with company objectives and statutory requirements. Contribute to the design and delivery of promotional and sales materials, ensuring compliance with local messaging standards. Procurement Planning Collaborate with the procurement team to align inventory orders with sales plans and customer demand. Communicate planned sales activities to ensure adequate product availability. Customer and Distribution Management Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, fostering long-term, profitable partnerships. Identify and develop relationships with prospective customers and distribution channels to secure sustainable business growth. Monitor competitive activities and market trends to safeguard company interests. Logistics and Transportation Coordinate with logistics teams to ensure timely and reliable product delivery. Maintain optimal inventory levels and ensure proper product rotation across regional storage centers. Supplier Relations Maintain regular communication with major suppliers to stay informed about market trends and competitive advantages. Performance Effectiveness Achieve financial, customer, and business targets for all product lines. Monitor accounts receivable to minimize risk and improve cash flow. Prepare and deliver monthly sales reports, including market activity analysis. Support professional development initiatives as directed by the Head of Sales. Business Development Identify and evaluate opportunities for growth and innovation in the wholesale and food service sectors. Collaborate with marketing to launch new products that meet market demands. Build a network of industry influencers to identify and convert new business opportunities. Requirements 10+ years in national food service sales, with expertise in sales strategy, customer development, and supply chain management. In-depth knowledge of center-of-the-plate products and experience with major food service distributors such as Sysco and Gordon Food Service. Strong communication, negotiation, and influencing abilities. Proficiency in sales planning, strategy development, and execution. Familiarity with promotional campaign design across various media platforms. Expertise in contract negotiation, quota management, and achieving revenue goals. Understanding of case-ready meat processing systems. Ability to analyze market trends and customer needs to drive innovation. Professional, credible, and trusted by stakeholders. Resilient, goal-oriented, and aligned with company objectives. Fluency in English. Willingness to manage the demands of a high-stress, travel-intensive role.
