We are currently seeking an experienced System Design and Field Service Engineer who will be instrumental to Avaris continuing growth. As a member of the operations team, the successful candidate will be responsible for Distributed Antenna System (DAS) design, onsite installation, commissioning, optimization, and technical support including hardware and software. Candidate should possess interpersonal and technical skills, both hardware and software. He/She must be able to analyze and resolve customer problems and/or escalate to the appropriate team. The candidate is required to perform iBwave indoor DAS design, installation planning, installations, troubleshooting, system commissioning, training, technical support, and problem management as needed to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction and promote additional sales and service. Ideal candidate will be stationed in Toronto majority of the time, but must also be able to work in USA without restrictions. Qualifications 5+ years of industry experience installing, servicing, troubleshooting, and maintaining RF equipment including but not limited to DAS Sound knowledge in in-door RF propagation design, planning and implementation with practical field-testing experience Expertise in Distributed Antenna System and telecommunication technologies such as GSM, WCDMA, LTE, VHF, UHF and P25 radio Proficient in operating signal generator and spectrum analyzer for RF analysis Experience working in train stations and tunnels is an asset Experience using iBwave for RF design is an asset Strong analytical skills in complex problem isolation Dedicated and self-motivated, able to work under high pressure Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills Willing to work irregular hours including night shifts when project in progress Ability to frequently travel to clients site in North America or Worldwide in short notice Able to work in USA and Canada without restrictions Key Responsibilities Perform indoor DAS design using professional iBwave design tools for different venue types Perform site survey, system installation, upgrade, commissioning, RF validation and optimization, fault isolation and walk tests Respond to field service calls and performs customer maintenance visits Support customer demos and field trials as required Provide root cause analysis on field issues in formal report with corrective actions taken Document initial customer system configuration and all subsequent changes Keep management informed, recognizes and escalates field issues Identify potential customer issues and makes solution recommendations to management Follow escalation guideline to minimize customer impacts Provide technical support to customer or partner inquiries on product capabilities and issues Assist test team in new product / feature testing to gain in-depth technical knowledge Provide guidance and training to customer personnel about product operation and maintenance procedures Use appropriate interpersonal skills to set and exceed customer expectations Promote Value Added Services to enhance overall system effectiveness and productivity Education Requirements: Bachelors degree in electrical / electronic engineering or related disciplines What we Offer Competitive compensation package of $75,000-125,000/year depending on experience and qualifications Continued opportunities for career advancement RRSP matching program up to 5% Employee Health Spending Account A day off with pay for your birthday Avari is an equal opportunity employer, and we thank you for your interest in the position.
