Reports To: Director of Operations Direct Reports: 1 - Corporate Services Supervisor Indirect Reports: 3 - Reception and Central Services Administrative Assistant (x2) Location: Edmonton, AB Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Manager Human Resources & Corporate Services is responsible for achieving the people, culture and marketing priorities outlined in the strategic plan. This role oversees all human resources operations including culture and engagement activities, employee relations, HRIS management, benefits administration, training and development, recruitment, and policy development. Collaborating with the firms Business Development Committee, the Manager HR & Corporate Services drives the execution of the marketing strategy, including website maintenance, social media strategy, and sponsorship administration. Additionally, this role provides leadership to the Corporate Services Supervisor and oversight of the Central Services and Reception functions. The successful candidate will demonstrate a collaborative and consultative leadership style to execute an HR and marketing strategy aligned with the firms ethos and business goals. Responsibilities Strategic Leadership: In collaboration with the Director of Operations, develop HR & Marketing strategy and execute the annual operating plan to support the achievement of the firms strategic goals. Human Resources: Culture and Engagement : Promote and enhance the firms ethos through engagement initiatives and activities including developing and maintaining an internal recognition program, facilitating social activities and leadership development. Learning & Development: Through consultation with key stakeholder groups, identify training needs and facilitate training sessions to enhance employee skill development and performance. Employee Relations : Manage employee relations issues, including performance management, conflict resolution and disciplinary actions. Provide guidance and support to managers and employees on HR policies and procedures. Ensure fair and consistent application of HR policies to maintain a positive and engaged work environment. Recruitment: Manage the full recruitment lifecycle from job posting to onboarding. Develop and implement recruitment strategies to attract top talent and ensure compliance with the Law Society of Alberta. Manage external recruitment relationships and stay apprised of relevant market feedback and key insights. Administration: Oversee the management and maintenance of the HRIS to ensure data integrity and efficient HR processes. Leverage HRIS data to inform decision making and improve processes. Oversee the administration of employee benefits programs, communicating benefits information to employees and ensuring relevant compliance. Payroll: Provide oversight to our third party payroll managed service provider, approving semi-monthly payroll. Marketing & Communications: Marketing: Responsible for the ongoing maintenance of the firm website, execution of the social media strategy and sponsorship coordination. Manage all branded materials and promotional items (swag) inventory in alignment with brand guidelines. Communications: Responsible for all internal and external communications (digital and print) ensuring adherence to brand guidelines and tone. Operational Leadership: Provide leadership and support to the Corporate Services Supervisor in supervising the firms Central Services and Reception functions. Accountable for managing the HR, Marketing & Central Services Budget. Education & Experience Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, CPHR Designation, or progress towards designation will be considered an asset, Minimum of 5 years of HR management experience, preferably in a law firm or professional services environment, Demonstrated experience in marketing or communications, including vendor management, Strong knowledge of Canadian employment laws and regulations, Proficiency in HRIS and other HR-related software; and Exceptional interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
