Who We Are: Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind (CGDB) is a charitable organization founded in 1984 to provide Canadians with greater mobility and independence using professionally trained guide dogs. The Opportunity: CGDB is seeking a hands-on and experienced Manager of Finance and Administration to join our team on a part-time basis. Reporting to our Executive Director, you will manage our finance, payroll and HR functions, ensuring the smooth operation of our dynamic and fast-paced office. Youll work three days per week from our Manotick location. As an ideal candidate, youre a senior finance professional with a breadth of operational experience and the desire to work a shorter week. Youre a self-starter who takes ownership and pride in your work and is keen to play a crucial role advancing a noble cause. Youre adaptable and practical, quick to learn, and keen to help in any way you can. You bring common sense, integrity, a can-do attitude and a strong work ethic. Key Responsibilities: Finance Management: Oversee and approve bi-weekly payroll. Produce monthly internal financial statements. Learn and manage the accounting and financial processes of the organization. Supervise our bookkeeping/donations department. Human Resources Management: Oversee the onboarding process for new staff, including contract writing. Set up payroll and benefits for new staff and maintain accurate tracking. Manage HR for all staff. Qualifications: Post-secondary education in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent combination of education and experience. 5+ years experience in similar roles. Strong proficiency with payroll systems, specifically EzLabor and ADP. Demonstrated ability to produce financial statements and manage accounting processes. Experience with HR management, including onboarding, payroll, and benefits administration. Effective leadership skills to manage a small team. A practical, hands-on approach to tasks and problem-solving. Comfortable with standard office software and equipment Excellent English verbal and written communication skills Previous experience working for a charity is highly desirable. CPA designation is highly desirable. Ability to be in our Manotick Office on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.
