Job Title: Design Lead/ManagerLocation: Victoria, BCOn-site/ Remote/ Hybrid: OnsitePermanent or Contract: Permanent The Boat Design Manager is responsible for managing and coordinating the design teams efforts for 3D model development and extraction of complete Manufacturing Information (MI) in support of production activities. The position works closely with the President, Sales and Marketing, Supply Chain and Production personnel. Key Responsibilities:Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire, guide, and motivate design teamsSkilled in team building and cultivating a collaborative, high-performance work environment.Effectively coach, providing constructive feedback and promoting continuous improvement in design qualityStrong boat design and 3D modelling skills geared towards productionKnowledge of aluminum boat manufacturingKnowledge of SolidWorks, AutoCAD and RhinoKnowledge of CNC pathing software Familiar with geometry or master-part based modellingKnowledge of computer software including Microsoft Windows, Office, and other applicationsLeadDrives the department to meet all goals and objectivesRepresents Titan Boats when interacting with customers, regulators, and auditorsTrains and develops junior DesignersDevelops a continuous improvement culture that promotes the belief that what is good enough today is not good enough for tomorrowDesignWorks closely with all departments to develop boat designs that our customers wantEnsures boat designs meet all customer and regulatory requirementsProvides accurate BOMs, with MI, to the production departmentsWorks closely with Supply Chain to develop purchased BOMs and MI for vendors Qualifications:Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology or marine equivalent7+ years of experience in boat design3+ years of experience leading design teamsExperience using 3D software (SolidWorks & Rhino preferred)Experience developing MI for production purposesExperience with; Transport Canada TP1332, ISO standards for inflatable boats, Lloyds Register Grey Boat Code, ABYC, etc.
