This professional will provide field and technical support for a range of projects and clients, under the guidance and mentorship of a Senior Hydrogeologist. When not in the field, you would work primarily from our Burnaby or Abbotsford office.The ideal candidate will:Hold a bachelors or masters degree in geological engineering or geological sciences.Be registered or eligible for registration as a P.Geo./P.Eng. in BCHave a minimum of 8 years of consulting or industry experience in hydrogeology in BC.Be able and willing to travel regularly to project sites throughout the Greater Vancouver and Fraser Valley to meet with clients, assist with staff training, supervise/conduct fieldwork, etc.Be located within or near the Fraser Valley or Metro Vancouver Office.Knowledge of small water supply systems, well design and testing, storm water and wastewater management, hydrology and water treatment.Familiarity with Regulations under the Water Sustainability Act, Public Health Act, and Environmental Management Act.Be proficient in standard desktop software (Word, Excel, Foxit, etc.) and be comfortable with mobile apps and cloud-based software.Familiarity with Aquifer Test, Google Earth, BC Water Resources Atlas, MODFLOW, ArcGIS/CAD a bonus.Be comfortable using simple hand tools and equipment to collect field measurements.Possess excellent organizational and time management skills and attention to detail.Have a strong spatial awareness, and an aptitude for creating legible and accurate maps, plans, and diagrams with pencil and paper, including neat handwriting.Be a skilled multi-tasker and problem solver.Have a reliable vehicle for travelling to and from jobsites, and possess a BC drivers license.Responsibilities will include, but may not be limited to:Preparing technical reports summarizing the results of environmental assessments and monitoring activities'. (example: Hydrogeological Studies, Well Evaluation Reports, Water Supply Feasibility Assessments).Collecting and handling soil, sediment, groundwater, and surface water samples.Conducting environmental monitoring and site inspections.Recording data and observations in an accurate, legible, and well-organized manner.Preparing and coordinating subcontractors and equipment for field programs.Filing and managing field notes, including some data entry.Liaising with clients, regulators, and contractors.Managing, planning, and coordinating environmental services projects. This includes preparing workplans and cost estimates, conducting data-gap reviews of prior reports, coordinating field activities.Assisting in the preparation of applications for regulatory approvals, permits, and licenses.This position and responsibilities will evolve over time, based on the employees skills, performance, and career objectives.PAY, BENEFITS & HOURSThis will be permanent full time salary position, with a three weeks paid annual vacation.
