Join us and be a part of something impactful!Job Overview:Reporting to the Transportation Manager, the Transportation Engineer will be responsible for reviewing and monitoring the contractor's implementation of the Project's Traffic Management Plan on the Surrey Langley SkyTrain (SLS) Project, and will play a key role in developing the transportation infrastructure on the Operations and Maintenance Centre 5 (OMC5) Project.The position will also support various transportation engineering, planning, and technical activities, including the review of the design and construction related deliverables to ensure compliance with the design standards and contractual requirements. Monitor the contractors implementation of the Traffic Management Plan including leading periodic field audits.Build and maintain relationships with the Contractors Traffic Manager, Traffic Engineer, and Traffic Control Supervisor, Build and maintain relationships with external stakeholders such as City of Langley, Township of Langley, City of Surrey, and TransLink.Provide advice, guidance and recommendations related to transportation engineering and traffic management.Actively support the management of procurement activities (e.g., RFPs, proposal evaluations, and contracts). Work closely with team members to ensure integration and coordination of technical activities. Qualifications:Degree in Civil Engineering and registered, or eligible for registration, with Engineers and Geoscientists of BC as a P.Eng (or Engineer in Training). Preference may be given to applicants with a focus on transportation and multi-modal projects.Substantial experience as a Transportation Engineer, focused on designing detours and traffic management designs in urban and semi-urban environments.Experience in project management, construction management, engineering design or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Knowledge of BC Ministry of Transportation and Transit (MoTT) Supplement to TAC, MoTTs Traffic Management Manual for Work on Roadways, and other applicable standards and guidelines including TAC Geometric Design Guide for Canadian Roads and MUTCDC.Strong interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills.Experience on DB projects is preferred.Good understanding of contract language and administration.Experience with traffic analysis software such as Synchro, HCS, and other macro and micro-simulation traffic modelling tools.Working knowledge of AutoCAD, AutoTurn, and any other traffic management design software.Demonstrated ability to work well individually and as a member of a team.Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Strong project management skills.
