Through vertical integration, the Apotex group is focused on the development and sale of generic, biosimilar and specialty products.For more information visit: Summary:The External Operations Supply Chain Director is responsible for leading and optimizing all aspects of supply chain planning and execution for products manufactured by external partners. This role ensures efficient supply operations, including the development of robust supply plans, effective inventory management, and seamless logistics coordination. As the external portfolio grows and becomes more complex, the Director will drive operational strategy, streamline processes, and ensure that supply chain activities align with Apotexs broader business goals.This position will lead a team of 10+ supply chain professionals between 2 sites Toronto, Canada and Bangalore, India, with supply chain manager, supply planners and supply chain coordinators. Reporting to the VP of External Operations and as a member of the External Operations Leadership Team, He/She provides support for the development and achievement of External Operations and Global Supply Chain objectives by promoting work through a transversal organization, fostering team development, ensuring operational excellence, and maintaining efficient supply coordination across global hubs and respect for Business Excellence.Job ResponsibilitiesSupply Planning & ExecutionEnsure supply is balanced with demand for the entire external operations portfolio (750+ SKUs, 90+ partners), proactively identifying risks and opportunities in product supply and addressing or escalating issues as needed.Lead GEO Supply Review as part of the broader monthly Apotex IBP process, representing GEO supply chain within the Global IBP process.Ensure optimized supply planning parameters with 3rd parties, aligned with Global Supply Chain and contractual agreements.Monitor and optimize inventory levels across raw materials and finished goods, mitigating risks of backorders or excess inventory. Participate in annual/ad hoc inventory policy reviews.Develop and implement robust, compliant supply chain processes and procedures for a dynamic product portfolio.Ensure timely sharing of forecasts and purchase orders (POs) with 3rd parties to meet supply requirements and contractual obligations and in alignment with internal delegation of authoritiesOversee stock transfers from 3rd parties, ensuring smooth coordination with the Global Logistics team.Drive SAP IBP processes with planners to enhance supply chain planning activities and pursue continuous improvement in collaboration with Global Supply Chain. Operational Excellence & Continuous ImprovementChampion initiatives to improve supply chain efficiency, process optimization, and operational excellence.Lead efforts to standardize supply chain processes, ensuring consistency and quality across external operations and supporting seamless integration across all supply hubs.Ensure advanced data analytics used to enhance planning accuracy, monitor supply chain performance, and identify areas for improvement. Leverage insights to implement data-driven solutions that improve supply chain resilience and efficiency.Develop and monitor supply & service key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure operational success, regularly reviewing performance metrics and implementing corrective actions where necessary.Drive a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging the team to identify and adopt best practices, innovative solutions, and process enhancements to support a growing and complex external supply portfolio.Leadership & Team ManagementLead and develop a team of supply managers, planners, and coordinators across Toronto and Bangalore, ensuring alignment and collaboration.Ensure the team possesses the necessary skills, experience, and motivation to perform their roles effectively. Nurture talent and establish robust succession plans, foster a high-performance culture and safe working environment.Attract and hire talent through networks, delivering a consistent onboarding experience that reflects company values and growth priorities.Promote a culture of trust and development aligned with the companys core values: Collaboration, Courage, Perseverance, and Passion.Provide input into GEO strategy, organizational design, and performance management, contributing to the broader business roadmap.Maintain strong links with Global Supply Chain to escalate risks, share insights, and identify improvement opportunities.Drive accountability for Supply Chain KPIs, ensuring continuous improvement in on-time delivery, inventory levels, and cost efficiency.All other duties as assigned.Job Requirements:EducationBachelors degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field.Advanced degree (MBA, Masters in Supply Chain Management) preferred.Professional certifications such as APICS (ASCM) CSCP/CPIM are advantageous.Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesDeep understanding of end-to-end supply chain processes, including demand planning, inventory optimization, and logistics management.Strong background in supply chain risk management and contingency planning.
