Job Description

As an Construction Manager / Site Supervisor in Canmore, AB, you will be a key player in ensuring the successful execution of multifamily construction projects. Reporting directly to the SVP of Development, you will serve as the primary liaison between the ownership group, the general contractor (GC), and architects, ensuring seamless communication and alignment throughout the project lifecycle. Your role is pivotal in maintaining quality, budget, and schedule compliance while fostering collaborative relationships among all stakeholders.Key ResponsibilitiesProject Liaison: Act as the central point of contact between the ownership group, general contractor, and architects, ensuring effective communication and alignment of project goals.Onsite Leadership: Oversee all construction activities on multifamily project sites, managing daily operations to meet timelines and objectives.Issue Resolution: Address site challenges promptly, collaborating with the GC and architects to implement solutions that maintain project momentum.Quality Assurance: Conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with plans, specifications, and building codes.Schedule Coordination: Work with the GC to maintain and update detailed construction schedules, ensuring alignment with project milestones.Budget Oversight: Monitor site-related costs and assist in managing project budgets, highlighting variances proactively.Safety Compliance: Enforce safety standards and procedures, conducting regular safety meetings and site audits.Progress Reporting: Provide consistent updates to the SVP of Development and ownership group, highlighting progress, risks, and recommendations for corrective action.RequirementsExperience: Minimum 7-10 years of hands-on experience in construction management, preferably with multifamily residential projects.Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of wood-frame and concrete construction methodologies and industry best practices. Commercial experience would also be considered an asset.Leadership Skills: Proven ability to collaborate with stakeholders at all levels, from ownership to subcontractors.Problem Solving: Effective at managing challenges under tight timelines, with a solutions-oriented approach.Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to liaise effectively with architects, contractors, and the ownership team.Software Proficiency: Familiarity with project management tools, MS Office, and Google Suite. Construction software experience would be an asset.Certifications: Professional certifications (e.g., PMP, Gold Seal, or equivalent) are an asset.Driving License: Valid drivers license with the ability to travel as required between project sites.
