OEG owns the 5-time Stanley Cup Champion Edmonton Oilers, the WHLs Edmonton Oil Kings, the AHLs Bakersfield Condors, and operates Rogers Place, the new home of the Oilers and Oil Kings in downtown Edmonton. About the Role: Reporting to the VP, Live Entertainment, the Director, Talent Buying - Live Entertainment is responsible for actively contacting and working with prospective artists, agencies, promoters & industry-based events to develop relationships and sales opportunities for OEG Sports & Entertainment. The Director will work closely with several internal departments to drive revenue through the creation and delivery of new event opportunities. Your Focus in this Role: Identify and develop new revenue-generating opportunities for OEGSE, targeting events that establish OEGSE on a national and international forum. Maximize revenue opportunities within all OEGSE events in Rogers Place and ICE District. Create and grow a list to target artists and acts suitable to the OEGSE booking philosophy. Develop relationships with civic and provincial organizers like City of Edmonton Event Attraction teams, Explore Edmonton, and Hotel Association (EDMH) to drive content for Rogers Place and ICE District. Work with the Booking Specialist to fill potential revenue-generating dates and create community fulfillment or City of Edmonton event opportunities. Oversee the general production of events with OEG Event Operations and Ticketing Operations teams. Liaise with event operations on budgets, logistics, and event production. Create Executive summaries of the local entertainment scene, including clubs, smaller venues, and festivals. Execute legal documents for venue agreements, insurance, cost estimates, and Proformas. Confirm agreements with the VP of Live Entertainment, relaying information to clients prior to handing off events to an Event Manager. Education, Experience and Skills: 5-7 years experience within the Live Entertainment industry; specifically, event sales in a large facility/arena/stadium. Post-secondary Certificate, Diploma or Degree in a related field preferred. Experienced in financials, budgets, and the development of Proformas. Experience working in a Hospitality environment is an asset. Event booking and logistics experience required. Strong understanding of the Live Entertainment industry, including promoters, agencies, and trends. Demonstrated ability to build relationships and close deals. Fan service approach to client interactions, with awareness and responsiveness to client satisfaction. Ability to perform well under pressure and manage multiple priorities simultaneously. Strong listening and communication skills. Organized, independent, and a creative self-starter, driven by results. Strong administrative background with proficiency in MS Office Suite and Outlook Mail. Proficient in drafting professional documents, contracts, and correspondence.
