Driving innovation in Library Experience and Research Services, you will lead a team of frontline client service officers and experts to deliver exceptional, equitable support and spaces that foster discovery, wellbeing and a sense of belonging. You will be highly analytical and a proactive problem-solver, capable of autonomous judgment and strategic implementation. You excel at navigating change, fostering strong stakeholder relationships through effective consultation and communication, and contribute to a collaborative, inclusive environment. Through your exceptional interpersonal skills and commitment to self-development, you demonstrate the ability to influence others and navigate complex organisational dynamics with tact and diplomacy.A post-graduate qualification in a relevant discipline and people management/supervisory experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant training and/or experience within the tertiary education sector or similar environment.Deep knowledge and leadership experience in the design and delivery of user-centred library services and expert research support programs, including space planning, service innovation, research data management, scholarly communication, digital preservation, open access and copyright.Demonstrated ability to operationalise strategy, lead change, and drive innovation in service design and delivery, with strong conceptual, analytical, and problem-solving skills.A strong track record of building inclusive, high-performing teams, effectively managing staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and wellbeing, and addressing underperformance with clarity and support.Highly developed interpersonal, consultation and negotiation skills, with the ability to collaborate across diverse stakeholder groups, influence outcomes, and communicate with impact to varied audiences.Experience providing high-level strategic and policy advice to senior leaders, with demonstrated capability in financial management, resource planning and service development within a complex institutional environment.Commitment to reflective practice and professional growth, with the ability to navigate organisational and interpersonal dynamics with empathy, adaptability, and self-awareness.Please apply with the following documents:ResumeCover Letter outlining your interest and experiencePlease note that you are not required to respond to the selection criteria in the Position Description.If you have any questions regarding the recruitment process, please feel free to contact Corey Menadue via email at hr-careers@unimelb.edu.au, ensuring that you include the Position Number and the Job Title as the subject.
