This could be the perfect opportunity for you to earn as you learn!Becoming an Apprentice with the City of Newcastle (CN) will provide you with the opportunity to combine on-the-job learning with structured training.This 4-year fixed-term contract is based within our Open Space Operations team where you will gain exposure to all elements of greenkeeping through on the job and technical training.As an Apprentice, you will work in conjunction with highly experienced Field Supervisors and Coordinators, within Open Space Operations Service Unit. This service unit provides in the delivery of efficient and effective bushland and park maintenance work seeing you learn how to operate machinery, equipment and tools such as mowers, trimmers, blowers, irrigation and sprayers.You will also have the opportunity to assist with mowing, constructing sports turf surfaces, sampling and testing soil and monitoring and maintaining plant health as part of your apprenticeship.This apprenticeship is targeted at the employment of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People.
