Were looking for a Commercial Analyst to play a key role in our Commercial Finance team at Optus.As a Commercial Analyst, youll support a dynamic mix of financial planning, forecasting, business casing, product profitability, and performance management activities. Your insights will help guide the performance of our Customer Facing Units including Consumer, Business, Enterprise, Wholesale, and Satellite.Youll report to a Commercial Director and work closely with a Commercial Finance Business Partner, aligning to a specific product and/or segment to support the business with in-depth analysis, strategic insights, and data-driven decisions.Your ImpactDeliver accurate and driver-based forecast models, partnering with the business to align outputs to strategic goals.Analyse weekly and month-end results, creating insights and presenting findings via executive-ready dashboards and presentations.Design and maintain models that underpin annual budgets and long-term plans.Identify financial risks and opportunities to influence commercial decisions.Conduct deep-dives and Post Implementation Reviews (PIRs) to extract learnings and opportunities.Build strong partnerships with stakeholders, delivering meaningful financial guidance and support.Support the development of effective internal controls across financial and operational functions.Present insights to senior stakeholders and participate in strategic workshops.What you''ll bringA university degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics or Statistics.CA or CPA certification is preferred or in the process of obtaining.Experience working as a data or commercial analyst, ideally in telecommunications or a related consulting field.Strong Excel modelling skills and experience with TM1.Awareness of Australias telco landscape, including competitors and product trends.Excellent communication skills written, verbal, and presentation.Strong interpersonal and relationship-building abilities.High attention to detail, impartiality, and negotiation skills.Optus is a place where we let you do you.
