Our mission is to offer spiritual and practical care to those who need it most.About the RoleWe are seeking a Ministry Assistant Outreach to join our team. Reporting to the Corps Officers (Ministry Team Leaders), you will work alongside our dedicated team to provide pastoral care, build faith pathways, and develop meaningful community partnerships.This position is a Full-time permanent position and will require a willingness to work Sunday mornings as part of your rostered hours.Key ResponsibilitiesNurture a growing relationship with God through prayer, Bible study, and participation in Sunday services.Live out and practice The Salvation Armys mission and values in all interactions.Work with Corps Officers (Ministry Team leaders) to develop faith pathways and strengthen partnerships with Alice Springs Salvation Army Homelessness Services and Salvos Stores.Build genuine, caring relationships with community members, including those at The Waterhole and Doorways.Lead and facilitate small groups, including faith-based groups, to encourage spiritual growth and support.Identify and empower potential volunteers within our mission expressions.What You BringEssential:A sound and mature Christian faith, with a passion for discipling individuals on their spiritual journey.Relevant tertiary qualification in Community or Social Services, or equivalent experience.Experience in pastoral care and leading faith-based small groups.A heart for sharing the Gospel in a way that is meaningful and relevant to all.Willingness to become a senior soldier of The Salvation Army, if not already one.Experience in ministry across various age groups, including prayer leadership and Bible study facilitation.NT Ochre Card, National Police Check, and NT Drivers License (or willingness to obtain these).Desirable:Experience working alongside Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.Experience supporting vulnerable community members, including individuals with disabilities or mental health challenges.Why Join Us?At The Salvation Army, we believe in the power of faith and community to change lives.
