Grade H - 15.58 per hour (excluding holiday pay), casual contract, hours of work will include evenings and weekends.Are you a passionate swimming teacher looking to progress to the next stage of your career?We are looking for a dedicated swimming teacher who is ready to take on extra responsibilities to assist in the day-to-day running of the Leisure Centre. The successful candidate will be responsible for the Leisure Centre in the Managers absence, ensuring that it is run safely and efficiently and supervising the use of facilities by the public.This position requires strong customer service skills, numeracy skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure. You should be comfortable leading a small team of swimming teachers, receptionists and lifeguards, including overseeing reception, payments, bookings and administration. You will need to comply with health and safety policies, risk assessments, fire procedures and emergency action procedures, and will be responsible for locking up the premises and ensuring the building is secure.This role includes responsibility for the operation and maintenance of the electrical, disinfection, filtration, ventilation and circulation systems and general mechanics of the plant room.You will also need to cover poolside duties and teach swimming lessons when required.It is essential that you have the following qualifications:Swimming Teacher qualifications, either Swim England Level 1 and 2 or STA Award and Certificate.Interview date: w/c 28 April 2025If you have not heard from us within two weeks of the closing date for applications, please assume you have been unsuccessful on this occasion.We reserve the right to close this vacancy early should we receive an overwhelming response.Please note, an online search may form part of this recruitment process following recommendations from Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) 2022.These posts are exempted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and as such appointment to these posts will be conditional upon the receipt of a satisfactory response to a check of police records via the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).
