Business Development Manager - Bearings & Power Transmission ProductsAccount & Relationship Management (Sales)Finer Power Transmissions Pty Ltd is a wholesaler of bearings and power transmission supplies servicing an independent network of distributors throughout Australia, New Zealand, and Pacific Islands. A family-owned and operated business with over 50 staff nationally and branches in Dandenong (VIC), Smithfield (NSW), and Geebung (QLD) - all team members'' work is individually valued and recognised directly by the Joint Managing Directors. Note: You must be either an Australian Citizen or a holder of an Australian Permanent Residency Visa to be eligible to apply for this position.Qualifications & ExperienceExternal Sales/Account Management Experience: Proven sales (account management) experience in an external role that involved meeting with businesses (distributors/customers) to maintain and expand market share of company products and services.Computer Literacy: Intermediate to strong computer literacy skills (e.g., Emails & Data Entry) - NB. Training of internal sales system provided.Good Communicator: Strong verbal and written communication skills (e.g., clear and articulate on phone, able to write clear concise emails, and prepare quotes and proposals).Technical Industry Knowledge/Mechanically Minded: Ideally you will have experience or knowledge of Bearing and Mechanical Power Transmission products, although a general appreciation for mechanical engineering or other industrial products and markets will be of value.Tasks & ResponsibilitiesFace to Face Visits and Regional Travel (External Sales): Making appointments with existing distributors and meeting with directors, purchasing officers, and key sales staff to present new products and seek opportunities to maintain and grow the range of products they support. Travelling throughout metropolitan Melbourne and Regional Territories (VIC, NSW, SA & TAS).Cold Calling for New Business: Targeting prospective new distributors from within the industry or industry specialists to create sales leads for existing distributors.Processing Orders & Quotes (Internal Sales): Manage quotes, proposals, and marketing opportunities for accounts within the portfolio and assist with calls, emails, processing of orders, and general sales when in the office.Technical Support: Attending to technical product queries.Assisting In Warehouse (Occasionally): Occasionally the sales team will assist the warehouse if there is a backlog of shipments to be put away. This is a rare occurrence, although worth noting.Working Hours and LocationMonday to Friday 8am-5pm*NB.
