We are excited to be looking for an experienced and motivated Direct Sales Manager to lead and manage key direct sales channels within our Hunter Valley Cellar Door. This role is focused on overseeing Cellar Door Sales, Wine Club Sales, member acquisition and retention, and event-driven sales strategies. In addition, the Direct Sales Manager will contribute to budget creation, sales forecasting, and the development and management of a high-performing sales team. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of the wine industry, and a proven track record of driving sales and revenue growth.This position requires a strategic thinker with the ability to oversee the day-to-day operations of the direct sales channels while also leading and inspiring a team, ensuring the highest levels of performance and customer satisfaction. motivate, and mentor a team of direct sales staff across various sales channels, including cellar door and wine club sales.Provide regular training and professional development opportunities to enhance the skills of the sales team.Create a collaborative and high-performance team culture that is aligned with the brands values and goals.Ensure staffing levels are appropriate for optimal coverage across the sales channels and events.Cellar Door Sales Management:Lead existing Cellar Door management team to oversee the day-to-day operations of the Cellar Door, ensuring that sales goals are met and customer experiences exceed expectations.Collaborate with the cellar door team to develop unique and engaging wine experiences, optimise efficiencies at the Cellar Door, and development of customer engagement strategies.Maintain a strong understanding of customer feedback and preferences to adapt strategies for increased sales and satisfaction.Wine Club Sales & Member Acquisition:Develop and implement strategies to drive membership acquisition and retention, ensuring growth of the wine club.Establish and manage the wine club sales budget, aligning financial goals with sales targets.Foster a personalised relationship with wine club members to ensure satisfaction and continued engagement.Work closely with marketing to create campaigns and promotions that drive membership growth and increase revenue.Event Management & Sales:Plan, coordinate, and execute both internal and external events (e.g., wine tastings, private dinners, consumer festivals) to drive brand awareness and sales.Lead and support the events team in ensuring successful execution and maximum engagement from attendees.Establish budgets for both member and consumer events and track performance against targets, ensuring events deliver on both sales and brand positioning goals.Sales Strategy, Budget Creation & Forecasting:Contribute to the development and management of the annual sales budget for all direct sales channels, ensuring alignment with the broader business objectives and financial targets.Provide regular sales forecasting, performance analysis, and adjust strategies as necessary to ensure continuous growth and achievement of KPIs.Conduct in-depth analysis of sales trends, customer behaviour, and market conditions to make data-driven decisions and inform sales strategies.Lead the sales team in implementing strategies that increase customer acquisition, loyalty, and retention, particularly through the Cellar Door and Wine Club programs.Reporting & Performance Metrics:Regularly report on sales performance, team achievements, and key metrics (e.g., wine club membership growth, event success, cellar door conversion rates).Identify areas for improvement and implement changes to processes, team structure, or sales strategies to optimise performance.Track inventory and sales data, ensuring accurate reporting and optimal stock management.Qualifications:5+ years of experience in a direct sales or management role, ideally within the wine, hospitality, or luxury beverage industry.Strong understanding of wine and the wine industry, with the ability to educate both staff and customers on wine tasting, production, and pairings.Proven experience in staff leadership and development, including performance management, recruitment, and coaching of sales teams.Demonstrated success in sales budgeting, forecasting, and achieving sales targets.Strong strategic thinking and data-driven decision-making skills, with the ability to analyse sales performance and market trends.Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with customers, wine club members, and stakeholders.Ability to execute and manage large-scale events and to represent the brand at external industry events, festivals, and trade shows.High level of organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines.CRM software proficiency (NETO, Rezdy, or similar) is highly desirable.Must hold current RSA or be willing to obtain.Physical Requirements:Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, evenings, and holidays, as needed for events and peak sales periods.Ability to stand for extended periods, walk, and lift moderate
