In this fast-paced and varied environment, you will take pride in your work, have a friendly and positive work attitude, and a commitment to customer satisfaction.You will assist in effectively serving our patient, doctor, and staff meals with particular attention to patient dietary needs, and assist with function catering at a consistently high standard and within HACCP guidelines.About usCome and join our expert team of surgeons, specialist doctors, dedicated nurses, and allied health professionals at Newcastle Private Hospital. We are a 189-bed, acute, private hospital facility co-located on the John Hunter Campus at Rankin Park. The hospital has 11 theatres, including a hybrid theatre, and a 15-bed Intensive Care Unit.We also have a cardiac suite including a cardiac catheter laboratory and a 16-bed Coronary Care Unit. A private maternity suite including 6 birthing suites and a special care baby nursery is available for families in the Newcastle region. Newcastle Private Oncology Centre provides specialty care for individuals and their families/carers undergoing all aspects of cancer treatment and care with both an inpatient unit and a day infusion lounge.As a Food Service Assistant your responsibilities will include:Assist in daily food preparation and basic meal assemblyDeliver, serve and collect all patient food requirements and meal traysAssist in general cleaning of kitchen equipment and utensils including dish and pot washing as requiredAct as a valued member of an interdisciplinary team by promoting a professional and positive team cultureProvide a high standard of customer serviceOperate in line with WHS policy and proceduresDeliver excellent customer service to staff, clients, and patientsHave demonstrated ongoing commitment to professional developmentMinimum Requirements:Authority to Work in AustraliaWorking with Children check2 years experience in a similar role within a Hospital or Aged care environmentCompleted Basic Food Handling Training (or working towards)Certificate III in Hospitality (or working towards)Knowledge of food safety and hygiene requirementsCommitment to service excellenceStrong communication and customer skillsWork well independently and within a teamAvailable for a variety of shifts and on-call shiftsWhy Healthscope?We care about your career at Healthscope.
