In this role you will ensure the accurate and timely delivery of payroll services and the processing of fortnightly salaries to approximately 450 staff across 13 campuses. The Payroll Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day management of TAFE Gippslands payroll system to ensure compliance with legislative requirements, relevant industrial instruments and Institute policies, procedures and guidelines. The Payroll Coordinator works closely and collaboratively with the People and Culture team to deliver a seamless and compliant payroll function. This partnership ensures the accurate processing of employee data, alignment with industrial awards and agreements, and a positive experience for all staff across the employee lifecycle.The Payroll team consists of two part time staff who work collaboratively to ensure the accurate and timely processing of payroll across the organisation. Together they manage the end-to-end payroll function while maintaining a high level of compliance and service.During the induction and onboarding period there may be a requirement to work additional hours or adjust working days to accommodate training and ensure a smooth transition into the role. Ongoing flexibility throughout employment may also be required from time to time to provide backfill during leave and peak periods.About youYou''re a highly skilled payroll professional with a keen eye for detail and a strong understanding of Australian payroll legislation. You are confident in your ability to manage day-to-day operations independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment. You''re proficient in using HRIS and payroll systems (preferably CHRIS21) and have advanced skills in Excel and Microsoft Office. Your ability to interpret complex legislation, awards and agreements allows you to provide accurate, specialist advice. With a natural aptitude for analysis and problem-solving, you can investigate and resolve issues efficiently.Youre organised, calm under pressure, and able to meet tight deadlines without compromising accuracy.
