Despite rapid growth during this period, we remain an Australian owned and family operated business.Based at our busy workshop in Prestons, you will be part of a small team assisting with general servicing and maintenance repairs of Yutong buses and coaches. Due to our continued growth, we are looking for a skilled and experienced Automotive Electrician to join our team. Reporting to the Workshop Manager, as our Automotive Electrician, you will be responsible for the installation, repair, and maintenance of electrical systems. Your expertise will ensure the smooth operation of vehicle electronics and electrical components.The Automotive Electrician will be responsible for diagnosing electrical issues, repairing faulty wiring or components, installing new electrical systems, and conducting regular maintenance on vehicle electronics. This role requires a trade qualification as an Auto Electrician or equivalent experience in the automotive industry.Skills Required:Strong knowledge of automotive electrical systemsProficiency in diagnosing and troubleshooting complex electrical problemsAbility to read and interpret wiring diagramsExperience with installing aftermarket electronic accessoriesFamiliarity with using diagnostic equipment/softwareExcellent attention to detail and problem-solving skillsGood manual dexterity and hand-eye coordinationStrong communication skills to effectively communicate with customers and team membersResponsibilities:Diagnose electrical faults using diagnostic equipment/softwareRepair or replace faulty wiring harnesses, connectors, switches, relays, etc.Install new electrical components such as audio systems, lighting accessories, or security systems.Conduct regular maintenance checks on vehicle electronics.Test repaired/replaced components to ensure proper functioning.Provide accurate time estimates for completion of tasks.Keep up-to-date with advancements in automotive technology/electrical systems.Qualifications:Trade qualification as an Auto Electrician or equivalent experience is essential.Minimum 2 years of experience working as an Auto Electrician in the automotive industry.Valid drivers license is required.Knowledge of relevant electrical regulations and safety standards.Additional certifications or training in automotive electronics will be advantageous.Note: This is a full-time position based in Prestons.
