This position involves overseeing the day-to-day operations of both the data and integration platforms while driving their growth through enhancements and projects that demonstrate business value. The role requires close collaboration with key business stakeholders to ensure alignment with business needs. Additionally, the manager will oversee outsourced support providers, act as a gatekeeper for changes, and provide architectural guidance and design. In addition to having proven people management skills, the ideal candidate should have a strong technical understanding of Microsoft Data Lake and PowerBI functionality and solid experience with integration platforms, preferably MuleSoft. Occasional travel to regional offices and mine sites will be required.What youll doOversee external support providers and internal business owners on the smooth operation of the Microsoft Data Lake, PowerBI platform, and MuleSoft platforms, ensuring high availability, performance, error management, and security. Ensure operational issues are swiftly resolved to maintain optimal platform functionality. Assist with troubleshooting by leveraging technical background.Lead key initiatives to enhance and expand our data and integration platforms. Manage the project lifecycle, from planning to execution, ensuring successful delivery within budget and on time. Coordinate with cross-functional teams to achieve project goals.Act as a trusted advisor to business stakeholders, understanding their data, integration, analytical, and reporting needs. Align technical solutions to these needs to drive business value and positive outcomes.Bring a strong business and commercial mindset to evaluate, propose, and implement cost-effective data and integration solutions. Ensure that technology investments deliver measurable and long-term value to the business.Manage outsourced support providers and third-party vendors, ensuring that SLAs and service expectations are met. Oversee the selection of vendors and ensure they are aligned with business and project goals.Provide architectural direction for the platform growth, data ingestion, and integration decisions, ensuring they are scalable, secure, and efficient. Act as a gatekeeper for all changes and advise on best practices and design standards. Drive ongoing improvements to the platforms and introduce new technologies and solutions that will enhance business operations. E.g. AI. Stay ahead of industry trends and make recommendations to keep Whitehaven competitive in the data, analytics, and integration space.Manage a team of platform engineers, Power BI developers, and MuleSoft integration consultants. This will also include a small internal WHC team requiring strong team management skills, augmented by a larger team represented by external service providers requiring team integration and partnering skills.What youll bringMinimum of 5 years of experience in a Data Platform management / Technical Data management role with demonstrated experience in Middleware and Integration.Microsoft Data Platforms, PowerBI, Mulesoft certification / product knowledge.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
