Utilise your expertise to lead the delivery of the Department''s annual budget and investment.Fixed Term, Full Time opportunity for up to 5 years to work with a high-performing and passionate team.SES 1: $225,000 - $290,600 total remuneration.The Department of Justice and Community Safety is seeking a Director, Budget and Investment to provide a critical role within Finance and Procurement.About the Business UnitThe Department of Justice and Community Safety (the department) delivers a justice and community safety system that works to build a safer, fairer and stronger Victoria.The Finance and Procurement business unit provides department-wide financial, procurement and property services through strategic leadership and setting the direction, policy and processes, and partnering with the department to build capability.The Finance Branch leads the department''s efforts to comply with government and legislative financial management responsibilities while driving a culture of strategic financial management across the department. It is responsible for the department''s financial and budgetary policies and processes, including statutory reporting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, taxation compliance, government reporting (including Standing Directions), and facilitation of the annual budget process.About the RoleThe Director, Budget and Investment is one of a small team of senior executives supporting the CFO in discharging these critical responsibilities. Leading a multi-disciplinary team of finance and budget experts, the Director Budget and Investment is responsible for leading, managing and delivering on the department''s annual budget process; non-financial aspects of the annual report; budget coordination between the Department of Treasury and Finance and the department; and the financial analysis and cabinet coordination function.The Director also plays a critical strategic leadership role in the review of briefings to support the CFO, Secretary and Ministers in the Public Accounts and Estimates Committee process.As the Director, Budget and Investment, some of your duties will include:Leading and managing three multi-disciplinary teams across Financial Analysis, Budget and Investment and Budget Coordination.Leading and delivering the Department''s annual budget and investment process in alignment with the department''s strategic direction and fiscal strategy, including any submissions to Government including the Budget and Finance Committee.Leading the development and publication of the non-financial aspects of the department''s annual report.About youTo be successful in this role, you will have:Highly developed knowledge and experience in public administration, policy and financial cycles, corporate processes and broader financial management policies and practices.Established experience in the annual State budget process.Demonstrated experience leading and managing multidisciplinary teams within a financial context.QualificationsA relevant tertiary qualification would be highly regarded.How to ApplyPlease click the Apply button on this advertisement.
