You''ll work closely with a high energy, high performing team of Allied Health Heads of Department & Allied Health Manager as we aim to elevate allied health across the organisation. We have a strong focus on clinical and leadership skill development, and strive to provide consistent high quality occupational therapy services across the campus. Our department consists of 34 occupational therapists and support staff, and we work across a variety of inpatient, outpatient and community services. Clinically we provide services to aged care, acute surgical and medical, trauma, neurological, rehabilitation, palliative care, lymphoedema and hands patients. We coordinate a robust student program and provide a variety of professional development opportunities. SESLHD is committed to enabling our community to be healthy and well, and to providing the best possible compassionate care when people need it.This position has operational accountability for the Occupational Therapy service within St George Hospital (SGH) and reports operationally to the SGH General Manager or delegate (Allied Health Manager) and has professional accountability to the SESLHD Occupational Therapy Discipline Advisor.The Occupational Therapy Head of Department will provide operational direction, lead, guide and manage the Occupational Therapy service across SGH and facilitate the implementation of high levels of clinical expertise in order to provide high quality care to patients/clients and their carers consistent with NSW Ministry of Health (MoH) and South Eastern Sydney Local Health District (SESLHD) policies, procedures and standards.
