We are seeking a driven and experienced Senior Coal Quality and Logistics Engineer to join our team at the Wilpinjong Mine a large-scale open-cut operation located 40km northeast of Mudgee. Producing high-quality thermal coal for both domestic and export markets, Wilpinjong plays a critical role in our wider operations.This is an outstanding opportunity for a motivated professional looking to advance their career in a technically diverse and operationally significant role. Reporting directly to the Technical Services Superintendent, you will lead and support a small team focused on optimizing coal quality and logistics to meet the varied demands of our customer base.Role ResponsibilitiesManage coal quality processes to ensure compliance with both domestic and export specificationsImplement and oversee quality control measures across mining and processing stagesDevelop and maintain blending forecasts to support optimal product delivery and meet customer requirementsCoordinate logistics to support reliable and timely coal deliveryConduct audits and performance assessments of quality and logistics systemsCollaborate with the Technical Services and Production teams on initiatives to improve coal quality, supply chain efficiency, and throughputLeverage software tools and systems to track, report, and improve coal quality metricsProvide technical guidance and mentoring to the team on coal quality issues and solutions.The lifestyle:This position operates on a Monday to Friday roster with one rostered day off per month, supporting a balanced and residential lifestyle in Mudgee or nearby towns.We offer an attractive package of benefits, including:Salary packaging options, including up to 50% of mortgage interest or rental payments for local employeesExceptional relocation support, including a lump sum payment equivalent to one months salaryAccess to the Employee Assistance Program for you and your immediate familyNovated leasing options and lifestyle discounts through WHEREFITRegular employee recognition programsAbout You:Tertiary qualification in Mining/Civil Engineering/Geology/Process or comparable degreeProven experience in open-cut mining operations, preferably coalExposure to coal logistics and supply chain coordination is highly desirableStrong skills in MS Office; experience with data analytics or logistics software is a plusDemonstrated track record of initiating and delivering Continuous Improvement projectsStrong communicator with the ability to influence, coordinate and drive outcomes across multiple teamsCommitted to upholding the highest standards of safety and environmental responsibilityAbout the company:Peabody is a leading coal producer, providing essential products for the production of affordable, reliable energy and steel.
