Reporting to the Group Tax Manager, this role offers the opportunity to engage in strategic tax planning / risk management, M&A projects, compliance management and complex tax advisory work for Viva Energys Australian and offshore group entities.Responsibilities & RequirementsTax Compliance and Reporting:Oversee / prepare end-to-end income tax compliance both locally and offshore as well as managing CbC reporting / transfer pricing documentation preparation.Assist with GST compliance, advising on GST implications with respect to business transactions, and addressing any GST-related issues.Prepare income tax provisions and tax effect accounting entries for statutory financial reporting.Administer and apply the group''s Tax Risk Management & Governance Policy.Manage stakeholder inquiries and compliance activities with the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) and other regulatory bodies / competent authorities.Tax Advisory & Business Partnering:Develop and implement tax planning strategies to align with business objectives.Support tax structuring for new investments, projects, and transactions.Proactively monitor changes in tax legislation and regulations and assess risks and opportunities.Provide business partnering support, advising on Australian & Singapore tax matters, including income tax, GST, transfer pricing, and withholding taxes.Mentor junior staff and work collaboratively with the finance leadership team.QualificationsTertiary qualifications in Accounting, Taxation, Law, or a related discipline.CA/CPA accreditation / Masters of Tax qualification will be highly regarded.Minimum 5 years of experience in tax, experience at a Big-4 / mid-tier accounting firm or large corporate in a relatable industry would be desirable.Expertise in tax effect accounting (including experience with CCH Integrator) and tax reporting processes.Strong technical knowledge of Australian tax law across corporate tax, GST and transfer pricing.Effective stakeholder management, with confidence in liaising with the ATO and external advisors.The ability to simplify complex tax concepts for commercial application.Self-motivated, collaborative mindset with a passion for process improvement and automation.Familiarity with ERP systems, such as JDE Edwards (Oracle) and/or Microsoft D365 an advantage.Additional InformationWe welcome applicants from diverse backgrounds including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and encourage and support diversity in our traditional and non-traditional roles.Please note: This role is being sourced through Viva Energy Australia, therefore we will not be accepting applications via external recruitment agencies. #J-18808-Ljbffr
