Project/Contract Manager - Newcastle - 13 Month Temporary OpportunityOrganisation/Entity: Transport For NSWJob category: EngineeringJob location: Newcastle, NSW, AU, 2302Job reference number: 99512Employment type: Fixed Term Full-TimeSalary range: $144856.0-$158305.0You may have been part of some big projects before, but this work is legacy-building.Your skills will be instrumental in designing and delivering cutting-edge solutions that enhance mobility, sustainability, and safety for millions of people.In this role, you''ll:Be responsible for the development, management and implementation of transport infrastructure projects to achieve Transport for NSW and Government road safety, asset management and network efficiency objectives.Provide efficient and effective project and contract management services by ensuring that the nominated transport infrastructure projects are developed and delivered to specified, time, cost, quality and scope requirements that meet Government and TfNSW objectives.Lead the investigation, design, estimating and procurement processes for the nominated project to deliver required client objectives.Manage the process of development, tendering, awarding and administration of professional service and construction contracts by controlling the scope, managing contract risks and issues, while fulfilling the role of a TfNSW Representative.Deliver project objectives and targets by modelling high-performance behaviours, including teamwork, initiative and flexibility, and developing less experienced team members through mentoring and coaching.Build and maintain effective working relationships and collaborate with customers, colleagues, stakeholders and partners to understand and manage risk and influence sustainable outcomes on projects.This is a fixed term full-time role (up to 30 June 2026) located at Newcastle. This is an exciting and rare opportunity to create your own success where your contribution will be truly valued and positively impact communities across regional NSW.To be considered for this role you will have:A four-year engineering degree from an Australian University or equivalent overseas qualifications or a related discipline.Experience in either project development and/or implementation of road and/or traffic infrastructure construction projects.Knowledge and experience of project development, contract management, risk assessment and exposure to infrastructure maintenance and construction work.Knowledge of the technical aspects of materials, equipment and techniques used in road and other related traffic infrastructure construction and maintenance.Project management skills and knowledge of computer-based tools and techniques for project and information management.High level communication skills and the ability to manage time and work collaboratively with stakeholders.A current and valid Australian motor vehicle driver licence and willingness to work outside regular working hours and travel on occasion.The role is based in Newcastle and regular office attendance will be critical to success.
