Are you ready for an opportunity to join the rail network?As a Senior Cable Jointer you will lead Telecommunications personnel in the onsite installation, programmed maintenance and repair of Copper, Optical Fibre Cable and associated cable infrastructure to ensure the safe and effective operation of the rail network.Your opportunityThis position is based at Sunshine Depot; however, some travel and occasional weekend work may be required at times to meet the business needs. The roster will encompass a 9-day fortnight and a one in four week standby roster to attend after hours/weekend faults as required.Youll be responsible for:Leading the onsite installation, maintenance and repair of the cabling systems and equipment in accordance with predefined work programs to ensure the safe and effective operation of the cable network.Implementing, coordinating and managing worksite safe working protection in accordance with Queensland Rail Standards.Conducting regular inspections and troubleshooting to ensure the reliability and safety of cable infrastructure.Collaborating with a team of railway professionals to carry out projects efficiently and effectively.Strictly adhering to safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment.This role will be ideal for people who:Have previous experience in Copper and Optical Fibre cable jointing, ideally within the railway industry.Have experience in a leadership role.Hold a Certificate 3 in Telecommunications and an ACMA Open Cablers Registration.Hold a current Driver''s Licence.Are familiar with relevant safety regulations and procedures.Have the ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.Possess excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Have effective communication skills and a collaborative mindset.Benefits that CountAll that Queensland Rail achieves each day relies on the hard work and talent of our teams.
