Salmon hires & supports a complete range of Caterpillar & other heavy machinery used in the mining & construction sectors, providing high quality plant for short & long-term hire throughout Australia.About the roleWe are on the hunt for an experienced and skilled Workshop Leading Hand where you will be supporting a team of workshop maintenance staff dedicated to maintaining our fleet in a safe, reliable and competitive manner.This position is a full-time position, based in our workshop at our Head Office in Stapylton, reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor. If youre a hands-on leader with a keen eye for detail and a passion for efficiency, we want to hear from you!As a leading hand, you will:Lead and mentor a team of Diesel Fitters, Auto-Electricians and Trade Assistants.Oversee day-to-day workshop activities, ensuring safety and productivity.Diagnose faults and provide hands-on technical support when needed.Conduct pre-start meetings daily to communicate daily tasks, safety updates and team objectives.Ensure all servicing, repairs and rebuilds are completed to the highest standard.Maintain accurate records in both paper and digital systems.Promote and enforce safe work policies and procedures in line with company policies.To be considered for this role you will need the following skills and experience:Heavy Diesel or Mechanical Fitter Trade Certificate (essential).Forklift Licence (essential).Current Manual Drivers Licence.Demonstrated 2-3 years'' experience in a similar position.Experience on CAT diagnostic systems or similar (essential).Strong safety focus and leadership in safe work practices.Experience leading a proactive maintenance team.Ability to diagnose and repair faults efficiently.Skilled in maintaining paper and digital service records.Positive, team-oriented attitude.Excellent time management and quality focus.What We Offer:Full-Time position based in our Stapylton Workshop.Super paid on all hours.A collaborative and encouraging team culture and opportunities for career development.Employee REPCO discount cards available to employees. *T&C''s apply.Employee Assistance Program (EAP).Click "APPLY NOW" or send your resume and cover letter outlining why you''re the perfect fit to employment@salmon.com.au.**Please note due to the expected large volume of applications, only shortlisted candidates will be contacted. #J-18808-Ljbffr
