The role will involve:Attending to patients in our Emergency Department in Collie, with an opportunity to expand your work to Bunbury Hospital, with the support of WACHS Telehealth Service (ETS).Assisting hospital staff and local general practitioners in providing after-hours and emergency responses to inpatients.Developing advanced skillsets in Anaesthetics, Surgery and/or Emergency Medicine.Mentoring the next generation of rural medical practitioners with an opportunity to teach and supervise students in their medical career.Looking to upskill further in Emergency Medicine? The skills developed can immediately be translated to your work in Collie, putting your newfound skills to practice!About Collie HospitalCollie Hospital is part of the Wellington Sub District within the WA Country Health Service (WACHS). It provides a 20-bed inpatient facility with a 24/7 recently upgraded emergency department and an impressive and brand-new theatre complex. Medical staffing in Collie includes a strong mix of long-term procedural GPs and visiting medical staff from Bunbury and the South West. Bunbury Hospital is the supporting regional hospital, providing operational and governance links with Collie and the other towns in the region. The Rural Clinical School of WA (RSCWA) has a site based in Collie currently with 4 medical students developing and achieving their goals in rural medicine and inspiring opportunities for students to propel graduates to lead successful careers in rural practice.Bunbury Hospital will be undergoing a $451.1 million redevelopment with an expanded emergency department, operating theatre capacity, additional beds and expanded birthing and neonatal services the biggest redevelopment ever undertaken in Western Australia.
