This is a unique opportunity for a strategic and hands-on CFO/COO to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of The Jean Hailes Foundation, a national not-for-profit dedicated to improving the health and well-being of women across Australia.As a key member of the senior leadership team, you will drive financial and operational excellence across both the Jean Hailes for Womens Health organization and our world-class Jean Hailes Clinics in Melbourne. Your leadership will support the delivery of trusted, evidence-based healthcare, education, and advocacy for women at every stage of life.You will be instrumental in developing and implementing strategic and business plans, enhancing systems and processes, and ensuring strong financial governance. Your expertise will also support regulatory compliance, funding partnerships, and sustainable growth, helping us expand our impact in womens health nationwide.This role is offered at 0.8 FTE to 1 FTE.Key Responsibilities:Lead the finance team to manage accounting, budgeting, payroll, accounts payable/receivable, and audits.Prepare and present financial reports to the Finance Committee and Board.Ensure the organization follows governance standards, risk management, and compliance policies.Oversee management of clinical services and human resources, including recruitment and performance management.Manage the acquisition, implementation, and maintenance of business systems and applications, ensuring IT service delivery and robust cybersecurity measures.Oversee supplier contracts and facilities management to guarantee operational efficiency and compliance.Develop and execute business plans that align with Jean Hailes strategic goals and objectives.Drive continuous improvement initiatives across all operational and administrative functions to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.Prepare and present operational reports for the Board to provide clear insights on organizational performance.About You:Business / Accounting / Commerce degree qualified, with majors in accounting or finance desirable.7+ years experience, with preference given to experience in the health or not-for-profit sectors.Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and compliance.Experience in financial management, including budgeting, reporting, and compliance, preferably in a not-for-profit or health-related setting.Experience in financial oversight of clinical or health operations would be highly regarded.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with stakeholders at all levels, including the Board and external partners.Understanding of taxation and regulatory requirements relevant to the sector (e.g. GST, PAYG, FBT, and salary packaging).Understanding of financial management of grants and acquittals.Excellent time management and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage multiple and competing demands.Proficiency in MS Office Suite and other relevant business applications.Why work at Jean Hailes?At Jean Hailes, youll be part of a values-driven team committed to advancing womens health and well-being.
