Our game is for everyone, and we strive to be a workplace for everyone.Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples are encouraged to apply.ABOUT THE ROLE -The role is a Part-time position 0.8 FTEThe Mental Health Practice Lead provides clinical leadership and best practice guidance to AFLW and AFL Club Psychologists, Club Doctors, and other club healthcare team members, as well as AFL, AFLW and State League Umpire performance and wellbeing psychologists. The role exists to support the mental health and wellbeing of AFLW and AFL Players and Umpires mental health care planning.Working closely with the 18 elite clubs, the role will assist in case coordination and the management of centralised specialist mental health referral networks. Clinical leadership of the role will entail embedding best practice principles to ensure safe and effective player mental healthcare.The role will contribute to professional development of club psychologists, umpire performance and wellbeing psychologists, and player development managers, and contribute to workforce development and establishing a pipeline of psychologists and wellbeing staff in elite sport.A DAY IN THE LIFE OFKey Accountabilities:Support AFLW and AFL Club Psychologists, Club Neuropsychologists, Club Doctors, and Club Healthcare teams to coordinate holistic mental healthcare for playersCoordinate multidisciplinary care providers across the system that places players at the centre of careImplement a best practice stepped care approach to Player mental healthcareManage the centralised mental healthcare referral network funded by the AFLAssist with response and coordination after critical incidentsFacilitate professional development activities for Club Psychologists and Umpire Performance and Wellbeing psychologistsPartner with post-graduate and registrar psychology training programs to support workforce capability in early career psychologists to work in elite sportProvide supervision to psychologistsOUR IDEAL TEAM MEMBERCore Competencies:Exceptional clinical leadership skills in mental healthcareDemonstrated clinical expertise in the assessment, treatment, and case coordination of mental healthcare in professional or elite athletesApplied professional supervision and consultation skillsDemonstrated experience working in high performance sportExceptional interpersonal skillsStrong leadership and care coordination skills, including an ability to effectively liaise across multidisciplinary care providers within elite sport and across the broader health systemDemonstrated skills in navigating the mental healthcare systemStrong understanding of healthcare policy and governance requirementsExperience working from evidence-informed approaches with athletes across the life span.Demonstrated cultural competence in Indigenous health approaches and cultural responsivity when working with athletes from diverse cultural backgroundsDemonstrated competence in working with LGBTQI+ communitiesRequirementsFull Registration with the Psychology Board of Australia, AHPRAMinimum 5 years as a registered practitionerArea of Practice endorsement e.g. Sport and Exercise, Health, ClinicalCurrent Working with Children CheckPsychology Board of Australia Approved Accredited SupervisorPlay The Day Your Way a flexible approach to your working lifeMy Development lean into the AFLs My Development program consisting of on-the-job training, coaching and mentoring, and formal learningPlay Well access to our extensive Health and Wellbeing program centered around our belief in a healthy body, healthy mind, and healthy workplaceMy Benefits with thanks to our AFL Corporate Partners, access great benefits and discountsAFL Silver Memberships permanent team members can access AFL matches at Marvel Stadium and the MCG, enjoy and share the experience of our game with your family and friends! #J-18808-Ljbffr
