You will also be focused on creating a culture of care by being a visible safety leader by engaging, developing and coaching your team whilst ensuring an overriding commitment to health, safety, environment responsibility and sustainable production.You will also:Build effective relationships across multiple mine departments to support the delivery of improved productionPositively shape culture in alignment with the BHP Charter ValuesEncourage and promote continuous improvement by constantly looking for opportunities to improve work practices and proceduresManage a diverse team of operators in a drill & blast environmentWork within a team environment to meet budgeted shift drill targets and weekly blast plansProvide expertise and report events and hazards in a timely and accurate mannerLead and coach your team through process improvement initiativesUndertake performance, development and disciplinary conversations and reviewsIdentify, build and develop team capability through ongoing and regular coaching, development and documented succession planningAbout YouYou will have a desire to shape culture, lead a team and improve business processes. Your ability to communicate is of the utmost importance as well as your relationship skills. It is essential that you demonstrate impeccable safety behaviours and being safety focused is part of your everyday. Your other skills and experience should include:Previous supervisory experienceUnderground mining experience, ideally coupled with exposure to drill and blast practicesCurrent SA Blasters Licence is highly desirable, must have the ability to obtain a police clearance and SA Blasters LicenseProven ability to influence and mentor others in HSE principles and behavioursAbility to operate at multiple levels and across disciplinesAbout Our ProcessAt BHP, we are committed to employing individuals who align with the BHP Charter Values and meet the requirements of the role.
