(Such a position equates to Assistant Professor tenure-track in the North American parlance.)The successful candidate will possess demonstrated research and teaching excellence in Feminist Philosophy and a PhD in Philosophy. She or he will teach undergraduate units in both the major in Philosophy and the major in Gender Studies. The successful applicant must have demonstrated capacity with respect to unit coordination and administration, as well as highly developed interpersonal and communication skills. Demonstrated experience in thesis supervision (Honours, MA, or PhD) is desirable but not essential. Demonstrated experience in curriculum design is similarly desirable.Philosophy & Gender Studies at University of Tasmania is a pluralist program. We especially welcome applicants with teaching competence in the Continental tradition - though we have needs in ethics and social/political philosophy as well.
