We are seeking a Strategic Development Manager to help shape the future of AGL Loy Yang.This is a dynamic, outcomes focused role, requiring adaptability, strategic thinking and excellent stakeholder engagement skills.Reporting to the Head of Engineering & Projects the Strategic Development Manager will be responsible for leading the development and coordination of future decisions relating to site operation, re-use and assessment.Key responsibilitiesManage key complex and challenging contract arrangements to ensure business obligations are met.Assess site resources, constraints and benefits to best identify future opportunities for development and collaboration.Resolve key Loy Yang site development issues to unlock the future options and site potential.Support engagement with potential Loy Yang & Energy Hub partners and relevant internal teams to progress and deliver contractual and feasibility assessment outcomes.Develop strategic initiatives to position the site and AGL to maximise operation from now through rehabilitation to closure & reuse.Assist with unlocking challenges with the complex contractual obligations for the Loy Yang site, its development and its future rehabilitation plans.Encourage and promote a culture of innovation and creativity.Maintain a mindset that considers the needs of our partners and stakeholders.Manage and coordinate the response to complex legislation and licensing including items such as mine bond assessment, mine exploration and retention licensing, etc.About YouYou will ideally come from an Energy / Heavy Industrial background with demonstrated experience in a similar role. Your highly developed analytical and problem-solving skills will enable you to collaborate with cross-functional teams, influencing stakeholders at all levels.What you bring to the tableTertiary qualifications in a relevant field (e.g., engineering, business, finance) or equivalent industry and professional experience.An understanding of the electricity industry and complex heavy industries would be advantageous.Knowledge of the regulators and regulations associated with land development, mining, re-use and associated requirements are desirable.An ability to prepare and present technical information and recommendations.Communication skills to the highest degree with the ability to engage senior internal & external stakeholders such as Executives, Regulators etc.Applications close on Sunday 20 April 2025Inclusion at AGLAt AGL, we value diversity and welcome applicants from various backgrounds, including Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander peoples, individuals with disabilities, culturally diverse individuals, and members of the LGBTQ+ community.
